- BA degree in Human Services, Grand View University, Des Moines IA.
- I have taught 6 years in South Korea for various different Private Academies. I taught for 1 1/2 years in Taiwan for the public schools.
I come from a small town in Western Iowa. I went through college and university and lived in Ames IA. Once I completed my BA, I decided that I wanted to live in a different country. I contacted some different recruiter in S. Korea and was offered a contract at a Private Academy. I hadn't intended to stay there for 6 years, however each year a different private academy would contact the recruiter and therefore contact me. After communication, I found myself offered a contract. This kept going for 6 years. I then decided I needed to come back to the USA and take a break from ESL teaching. Next, through some research, a recruiter from the MOE (Ministry of Education) in Taiwan was interested in speaking with me. After talking with them, they offered me a contract. So, I packed my bags once again and moved to Taiwan. I taught ESL for a year and a half and then made the decision it really was time to head home again. When I got home, I went back to work in Social Services , however I didn't want to give up teaching. So, I spent time researching the possibility of teaching online. I enjoy teaching ESL and I really love my students. I'm very easy going and my greatest desire it to know each of my students and their unique capabilities. From my experience teaching, each student it so unique and it so rewarding to learn about them.
